Assault with cookware

A Wallaceburg man has to answer to assault charges after someone attacked a woman with a frying pan Tuesday night.

Police got the call about 10:20 p.m. to head to Montgomery Drive in Wallaceburg for a disturbance.

Officers learned an argument between a man and woman escalated when the man assaulted the woman with a steel cooking pan, police say.

During the altercation, the man also knocked over furniture onto the woman, who was lying on the floor, and made comments to cause her physical harm, police say.

The assault resulted in injury that required medical attention.

The man fled upon police arrival. Officers utilized a drone and located the man hiding in a backyard.

A 45-year-old Wallaceburg man face charges of assault, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

Man smashes window; man arrested

A local man faces charges after someone smashed a window of a business on Grand Avenue West Tuesday night.

Police say the incident took place at a gas station on that street.

Officers arrived on scene and arrested the man.

A 22-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with mischief.

Another broken window; another arrest

What do you do at 4 a.m. on a Wednesday morning? Apparently for one woman, you break windows.

Police got the call to go to a Harvey Street address in Chatham about that time over a report of a disturbance

Police say officers arrived, the woman attended the home and broke a window in the residence.

A 28-year-old Chatham woman is charged with mischief.

Skipped court date

An afternoon disturbance call led to the arrest of a man who seemed allergic to court appearances.

Police were called to an address on Grand Avenue West about 4 p.m. Tuesday. They located a man and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

A 39-year-old Chatham Kent man faces charges of failing to comply with a probation order, failing to comply with an appearance notice and failing to attend court.

Probation violation

At 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, police located a man on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

The officer confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant resulting from a probation violation warrant issued in May. He was also wanted on an outstanding DNA Warrant.

A 51-year-old Chatham-Kent man faces charges of failing to comply with a probation order.
