Walpole man charged with traffiking, resisting arrest

Tracking down a stolen motorcycle Sunday morning in Wallaceburg led to a drug bust.

Chatham-Kent police say officers on patrol spotted the bike on Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg shortly before 10 a.m. and confirmed it had been reported stolen.

As officers getting confirmation, police say the man who was riding the bike returned. He spotted the cops and tried to flee, but was quickly apprehended.

A search of the man yielded suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $10,000.

A 43-year-old Walpole Island man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is charged with possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
