Youth reports his own violation
Police got a rare visit where a suspect reported to officers they had violated their release conditions.
On Monday morning, the youth, police say, showed up at police headquarters and turned himself in.
Police say the teen was released by the court in late April with conditions to not be outside of his residence without his surety.
On Monday, the youth showed up and told police he had violated that condition.
The 16-year-old male was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
Wallace St. walker arrested
A stroll down Wallace Street Monday afternoon led to a man being arrested.
Police located a man walking on Wallace Street shortly after noon. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on a DNA warrant and a probation violation warrant.
A 32-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
Skipped court dates
As police responded to a trespassing incident, police spotted a man on Emma Street and wound up arresting him Monday afternoon.
Police say the man was wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a May 2023 mischief investigation in Chatham.
A 58-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is charged with mischief and two counts of failing to attend court.
Meanwhile, that evening, police pulled over a vehicle on Elm Drive in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, the officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court to have his fingerprints taken.
A 20-year-Tilbury man was arrested and released with a new court date.
