The municipality is ready for residents to plow into what has become a popular annual contest: name that snowplow.
This will be the third year for the contest, where Public Works name various snowplows as suggested by the public.
“The snowplow naming contest is a wonderful example of how our community comes together. It is a great reminder that the fleet is not just cleaning snow, they’re fostering a sense of togetherness, creativity, and pride in our community,” Edward Soldo, general manager of infrastructure and engineering, said in a media release.
“Let’s plow through the winter season with style and community spirit,” said Mayor Darrin Canniff. “The ‘Name the Snowplow’ contest is an opportunity for our residents to leave their mark on the community’s snowy landscape, and I can’t wait to see the creative names they come up with.”
Residents can visit the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent link at www.letstalkchatham-kent.ca/name-a-snowplow-2023 and submit a name.
One plow will be named in each of Chatham-Kent’s six wards.
Residents of all ages are encouraged to participate and submit their creative names until Nov. 19. Final voting on the short list will begin the week of Nov. 27.
