Monday morning began with a scuffle with Chatham-Kent police officers for a Tilbury man.
The officers were doing a property check at about 2:20 a.m. on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
A man was found by police and they confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court for weapons charges.
As officers attempted to arrest the man, he became confrontational and assaultive towards the officers, police say. A conducted energy weapon was utilized, and the man was taken into custody.
A 43-year-old Tilbury man was transported to police headquarters and additionally charged with assaulting a police officer. He was held pending a bail hearing.
