Traffic stop leads to forgery charges
A Tilbury woman faces multiple charges following a Wednesday morning traffic stop.
Chatham-Kent police pulled over a vehicle shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Middle Line in Tilbury.
Through investigation, police learned that the driver was wanted on several outstanding warrants held by the Chatham-Kent Police and the Ontario Provincial Police.
A 36-year-old Tilbury woman was charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of forgery, three counts of uttering forged documents, identity fraud, and failing to attend court.
Violation of probation
At 12:41 p.m. Wednesday, police were asked to investigate suspicious activity on Blake Street in Wallaceburg.
Police were able to find a man in the area and learned he was on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with his probation order.
A 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with two counts of failing to comply with his probation order.
Theft
Police were called to Walmart on St Clair Street in Chatham at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday, due to a theft accusation.
When police arrived, they learned the man who was accused was on an outstanding warrant related to a previous theft investigation. He was arrested.
A 40-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
Impaired driving
At 3:08 p.m. Wednesday, police were asked to investigate a traffic complaint on William Street in Merlin.
Police were able to locate the vehicle that a witness had called about on Middle Line, between Dillon Road and Four Rod Road in Raleigh Township.
During investigation, police believed the man driving to be intoxicated while operating a vehicle. The man was arrested.
A 21-year-old Blenheim man was charged with having blood alcohol level that exceeded the legal limit and driving with a suspended drivers license.
