Theft charges

On Sept. 1, Chatham-Kent police responded to a King Street West business in Chatham for a theft investigation.

Police learned a man attended the business and removed a bell from the entrance. The man was also bound by conditions of a probation order not to attend the business.

On Thursday morning at 1:16 a.m., police located the man on Wellington Street East in Chatham.

A 48-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was charged with theft and failing to comply with a probation order.

Break and enter charges

A man wanted by police in connection with a spring break in is facing charges.

On March 8, police responded to a Charring Cross Road commercial property for a break and enter investigation.

The police received information two suspects were at the location removing material.

Police arrived and observed two men attempting to flee the area. One man surrendered to police and was arrested. The other man fled but was identified. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Thursday morning at 2:35 a.m., police located the man on Grand Avenue East in Chatham and arrested him.

A 44-year-old Sarnia man was charged with break and enter and possession of break-in instruments. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Bail violations

On Wednesday evening, a patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, the officer discovered the man, a passenger, was bound by conditions of a release order to remain on a specific property with specific conditions.

The man was arrested.

A 51-year-old Walpole Island man was transported to police headquarters and charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was held pending a bail hearing.
