Sometime between Nov. 26 at 3:30 p.m. and Nov. 29 at 8:30 a.m., someone forced their way into a building under construction on King Street and stole $2,500 worth of various tools.

Theft
Yesterday afternoon, Chatham-Kent police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Shoppers Drug Mart on Queen Street in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the woman entered the store and concealed perfume in her bag. The woman fled the store on foot making no attempt to pay for the items, police say.
Officers located the woman a short distance away and she was taken into custody. Upon being searched incident to arrest, the woman was found to be in possession of three perfume sets. Total value of the theft was approximately $180.
A 37-year-old woman, of no fixed address, has been charged with theft under $5000, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and failing to comply with her Probation Order. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
That’s not a valid licence
Last night around 6 p.m. a Chatham-Kent police officer with the Traffic Unit initiated a traffic stop on Mary Street in Chatham.
The driver, a 37-year-old Thamesville man, was charged with driving while under suspension, using plates not authorized for the vehicle and failing to surrender an insurance card. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
