A weekend fire on Walpole Island has claimed a life.
Lambton OPP, Walpole Island police and the Walpole Island Fire Department attended a residential fire on the First Nation shortly after 4 a.m. on Sept. 5. They arrived to see the home fully engulfed.
Police say firefighters found a body inside the home
They confirm it was the body of Edwin Wright, 68, of Walpole Island.
The Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
The death has been deemed non-suspicious at this time, police say.
