Sometime over the weekend, someone forced their way into two buildings at the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village on Fargo Road.

Nothing was stolen, however damage was estimated at $900.

Mischief

In February, a homeowner in Dresden asked the woman to care for her home as she tended to a family emergency out of town.

Upon her return, the homeowner observed approximately $1,000 damage to her home and contents of the home.

Last night, police located the woman and she was arrested.

A 44-year-old Dresden woman has been charged with two counts of mischief.

Assault in Wallaceburg

Shortly after 3 a.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance at an apartment in Wallaceburg.

A 36-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with assault.

Insurance, licence, plate issues

Last night, an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg observed a vehicle with only one headlight driving in the area of Murray Street and Duke Street.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and learned that the driver was suspended for medical reasons and that the license plates were not registered for the vehicle.

A 34-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with driving while under suspension, using plates not authorized for the vehicle and failing to produce an insurance card.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and the license plates were seized as evidence.

Mischief in Wallaceburg

Around 10 p.m. last night, police responded to an alarm at Hyatt Tax Service on James Street.

Upon police arrival, officers observed that the glass in the rear door was damaged, however nothing was stolen.
