Chatham-Kent’s number of active COVID cases popped up by just one today.

With eight new cases, seven others came off the books, according to CK Public Health numbers.

That raised our active total to 104.

This comes in the wake of seeing upticks of 13 overall active cases from the weekend and Monday, and double digit increases over recoveries since the middle of last week.

A woman in her 90s passed away from COVID-19 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday. It was the 10th COVID-19 death that the municipality has seen since the onset of the pandemic more than a year ago.

Outbreaks remain at A.A. Wright Public School in Wallaceburg, where five staff and/or students tested positive and a church.
