Police are investigating a robbery at the Shell Gas Station on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
The robbery took place around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Through investigation, police learned that a man entered the store to buy cigarettes and lottery tickets. The man brandished a weapon and stole the items, valued at $275, while the cashier asked him to pay.
The cashier was not physically injured.
The man fled on foot, westbound on McNaughton Avenue, then crossed the roadway.
The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5’8”- 5’9” tall, with an average build and dark coloured eyes and hair.
He was last seen wearing a black ball cap, blue pants, black hoody, black and grey running shoes and red face covering.
Members of the Major Crime Unit are investigating.
