Assault with a guitar

A Blenheim man faces assault charges after someone clocked another man with a guitar on the weekend.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday, Chatham-Kent police were called to a residence for an assault complaint, where it was learned a man assaulted a 40-year-old-male with a guitar.

A 37-year-old man faces assault with a weapon charges.

Funny money

Early this morning, Chatham-Kent police respond to the report of a man using counterfeit money to pay for a cab fare in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man used a counterfeit $50 bill to pay for his fare and that he was breaching his curfew condition.

A 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with possessing counterfeit money, using counterfeit money and two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft of bikes and tools

Yesterday morning, police responded to the report of suspicious activity in the Jackson Park area.

Upon police arrival, officers located tools, a Stihl grass trimmer, and bicycles. Through investigation, police learned that the grass trimmer was stolen from a nearby church and the tools and bicycles were stolen from a nearby home.

Stolen vehicle

Sometime yesterday between noon and 2 p.m., someone forced their way into the compound at Sunny Acres on Talbot Trail and stole a silver 2007 Chrysler 300 along with three car batteries.

The vehicle was unplated.
