Woman charged with assault

Last night, a Thamesville man was walking with a woman, when she turned and slugged him. 

A 43-year-old Thamesville woman was arrested and charged with assault. 

Neighbours clash, charges laid

Last night, police responded to a neighbour dispute in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that a man was currently bound by conditions not to communicate with his neighbour. 

Yesterday, the man yelled at his neighbour a couple different times throughout the day, police say. 

A 46-year-old Chatham man is charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.  

Domestic-related charges

Yesterday, police received information that a man, currently on conditions not to communicate with a specific Dover Township woman or go near her home, was driving by the residence and following her.

Last night, police located the man and he was arrested. 

A 37-year-old Chatham man has been charged with criminal harassment and three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions. 

Breach of release conditions

On June 24, a woman was released from Court with several conditions. Two of those conditions stated that she was to remain in her residence at all times and not to possess a cell phone. 

And on July 1, the woman was released from custody again with the same conditions.

Guess what she did.

Last night, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Blenheim. When officers arrived, police say the woman fled on foot. 

The officers found the woman hiding outside behind a garbage can. 

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the woman was found to be in possession of a cell phone, police say.

A 29-year-old Dresden woman has been charged with four counts of failing to comply with her release conditions. 

Speed traps

Yesterday morning, police conducted traffic enforcement on Longwoods Road. 

Four motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.

Yesterday morning, police conducted traffic enforcement on McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham. 

Nine motorists were stopped and charged with speeding through the posted 40km/h zone. 

Careless driving

Yesterday morning, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Thirteenth Line between Four Rod Road and Bloomfield Road.

Upon police arrival, officers observed the vehicle in the ditch, unattended. 

Through investigation, officers located the driver hiding a short distance away with minor injuries. 

A 29-year-old Chatham man was charged with careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. 

Total damage was estimated at $3,000.
