Chatham-Kent’s cumulative COVID-19 cases have almost reached 200.
On Tuesday, CK Public Health reported nine new cases, for a total of 197.
One individual, in their mid- to late-50s, remains hospitalized. Dr. David Colby, Chatham-Kent’s medical officer of health, said the individual, who is at a hospital in Windsor, is pulling through.
The new cases are not from an institutional or workplace outbreak, according to Colby.
The risk of COVID-19 spread remains very low in the community. All the active cases are related to immediate family and close contact.
On Friday, Sarnia-Lambton will be entering Stage 3 of reopening. The county only has seven active cases.
Middlesex-London Health Unit is reporting 12 active cases. Southwestern Public Health (Oxford- Elgin-St. Thomas) has eight.
Windsor-Essex, the only Southwest Ontario region left out of Stage 3 reopening, currently has 2,017 cumulative cases. More than 600 remain active.
