Drug charges

Yesterday afternoon, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Patteson Avenue in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the driver was suspended from driving.

A 53-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested, and upon being searched incident to arrest, police say he was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl.

Police further learned that a woman in the vehicle was wanted for drug possession and failing to attend court.

The woman was arrested and upon being searched incident to arrest, was found to be in possession of a crack pipe, suspected fentanyl, combination of suspected crack cocaine and fentanyl along with three loaded syringes containing suspected methamphetamine.

A 38-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with four counts of being in drug possession.

Assault 

Around 5:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Dresden between two men known to each other.

A 44-year-old Dresden man was arrested and charged with assault.

Curfew breached 

Shortly after 2 a.m. this morning, police located a man at a motel on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by four separate release documents to obey a daily curfew by remaining in his residence between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

William Nussey, 57, of Tilbury, is charged with four counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

Stolen wheels 

Yesterday morning, police responded to the report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on University Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Police say a houseguest stole the keys from the homeowner and left with her white 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plates BRNH 193.

Trailer stolen

Sometime between Saturday night at 11 p.m. and yesterday morning at 11 a.m., someone stole a 1987 white pop-up trailer from a property on Water Street in Wallaceburg.

The trailer was last seen with Ontario license plate H5674W.
