It didn’t take long for Chatham-Kent police to track down a suspect for stealing a woman’s debit card.
The theft occurred Monday from a vehicle parked at a Chatham home, where someone got into the vehicle and stole the woman’s wallet.
Police say the debit card was then used to purchase alcohol and cigarettes.
With the help of video surveillance, the investigating officers were able to identify the suspect.
And last night, police located the man and made their arrest.
Eric Belland, 31, of Chatham, is charged with possession of a stolen credit card, unauthorized use of a credit card, possession of property obtained by crime, and fraud.
