Chatham-Kent police report they’ve arrested two women who allegedly bilked an elderly woman out of more than $3,000.
Officers first learned of the theft in September, when the elderly woman complained her bank statement was in overdraft.
Police say the officers investigated and learned that two women known to the victim, whom she trusted to periodically make purchases for her, had taken her debit card without her permission and took out cash on multiple occasions.
On Tuesday, the two suspects were arrested.
Two Park Lane residents, ages 41 and 65, are charged with 10 counts of theft of credit card and 10 counts of theft.
