Representatives from the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Helping Hands Auxiliary presented a cheque recently for $20,500 to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF).

At the request of the auxiliary, $12,000 of the funds has been earmarked to a Mobile Procedure Light in the OB/GYN Clinic, and the balance of $8,500 will be put towards the OTN Equipment Telestroke in the Emergency Department at CKHA’s Chatham site.

The donation was made possible through various fundraising initiatives co-ordinated by the Auxiliary, including proceeds from the Boutique Grand Gift Shop located at the Chatham site of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA).

“There has been a great deal of change and success at both the hospital and foundation recently and we are honoured to be a part of that success,” said JoAnne Dale, President, Helping Hands Auxiliary, in a media release. “We are looking forward to doing even more to assist the foundation and Chatham-Kent Health Alliance more new equipment for our hospital.”

“I am thrilled to announce this generous donation from the Helping Hands Auxiliary,” said Mary Lou Crowley, President & CEO, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation. “These funds are supporting the purchase of two critical pieces of equipment at CKHA, and we are truly grateful for this support. “

Since its establishment, the Helping Hands Auxiliary has contributed more than $350,000 towards excellence in quality healthcare, equipment, education and patient care in Chatham-Kent.
