On Sunday morning at about 9:25 a.m., just west of Chatham-Kent, an eastbound vehicle left Essex County Road 42, hit a hydro pole and ended up submerged in Big Creek.
Emergency crews, including Chatham-Kent fire and EMS, responded. One person was pulled from the vehicle and taken to hospital, but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
