Obstruction, trespass charges

police-lights

A ride along the railroad tracks led to charges for two Chatham residents last night.

Police say officers responded to a call of suspicious people riding bikes along the railroad tracks near the Lacroix Street overpass.

When asked by police to stop, one, a woman, did, however, the other, a man, attempted to flee.

Police say the man resisted arrest and tried to escape. During the arrest, one officer was injured, requiring treatment at the hospital.

Both people face trespassing charges, while the man also faces a charge of obstructing police.
