Police made an arrest yesterday in connection with an assault on a Chatham man last week.
On May 11 shortly after midnight, police were called to an address on Joseph Street for a disturbance. A resident had returned home to find a small group of people in his laneway. As he attempted to go into his home, one of the males confronted him making threats while revealing what was believed to be a firearm concealed in his waist. The victim fled to a neighboring home and called police. The suspect fled the area prior to Police arrival and a warrant was subsequently issued for Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats.
Yesterday, the Chatham-Kent Police Service were informed the male party involved in this incident was located and arrested by the Wingham Police Service. Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service met Wingham officers and took custody of the male. The 35 year-old Formosa, Ontario male was later released from custody with conditions and a court date of June 3.
