Around 3:15 a.m. this morning, emergency crews responded to a gas leak on St. Anthony Street. It is believed that a white man, approximately 20 years of age, attempted to steal a bicycle locked to a gas meter.
When the man realized he cut through the gas line he fled the area without the bike. Residents were evacuated until Union Gas attended to repair the gas meter. No one was injured. Damage was estimated at $600.
