While construction at the Boardwalk on Thames remained at a standstill Wednesday, a small crew continued working at the Everlast Group’s other Chatham project, the renovation of the former Park Street United Church.
A worker who identified himself as Denis, was busy doing cement work, while plumbing and heating work continued elsewhere in the building.

The building, constructed in 1873, is under a $2-million renovation for use as an office complex, with 15 apartments situated on the west side of the structure.
The building has a noted history. Lester B. Pearson, who served as Canada’s 14th Prime Minister from 1963 to 1968, lived next door to the church when his father was its pastor.
The $50 million Boardwalk condominium project, a 12-storey structure with 113 units, has been halted. The project’s web site listed completion and occupancy in 2014.
Only about two storeys of concrete shell exist at the corner of King and Fifth streets.
Repeated calls to Everlast principal founder Victor Boutin have not been returned.
Chatham Coun. Michael Bondy said if Everlast isn’t able or willing to complete the project the municipality should begin an effort to attract another developer to the site.
