Why are you running?
I’m running for Ward 2 because people should know that their voice matters and for far too long their concerns have fell on deaf ears. I want to change that. I want people to feel that they can count on their elected officials to bring that voice to the table when it matters most
What are the two biggest issues for the next term of council?
Firstly, we need to take care of our infrastructure – our roads, drainage, and essential services – so we’re not falling behind. When these systems fail, everyone feels it. I’ll push for long-term planning that gets ahead of problems before they become costly emergencies.
The second biggest thing would be being responsible with your tax dollars. Raising three kids, my family knows how important it is to make every dollar count. I’ll bring that same mindset to council — demanding accountability, questioning spending, and ensuring your money is invested where it matters most to residents. A big part of that as well is communication.
What do you hope to achieve if elected?
To bring confidence and trust back into the position of councillor, for people to know they can count on their elected officials to put forth the best effort they can to benefit the community. Success in my first year would be seeing at least one major Ward 2 infrastructure priority move from planning into the approved capital budget or into construction.
Holding at least one public community meeting in each major area of ward 2 every year.
What skills and experience do you bring?
I bring 20 years of hands-on experience working in Chatham-Kent’s agricultural industry in many different leadership roles, backed by a diploma in Agriculture, a degree in Agri-Business, and a graduate diploma in Seed Science and Technology.
As a parent of three, I understand the everyday pressures facing local families. I’m a strong communicator and a determined problem-solver who believes in listening before deciding. I’ll show up, ask hard questions, and always put residents first.
Are you a fan of Donald Trump? Did not answer the question.
