Police will not be releasing the name of the man who died this morning after his car slammed into the back of the Staples store at Thames-Lea Plaza.
Chatham-Kent police did say the man was 51 and from Chatham, but due to a request from next of kin, will not provide his name.
The man was driving a Ford Focus and hit the rear of the building about 5:30 a.m., police say. Emergency crews responded and paramedics transported the man to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The traffic management unit continues to investigate.
