Why are you running?
I am running because I’ve been disturbed by the lack of attention our existing infrastructure is receiving while spending on new luxury projects (i.e. the Hub), the arrogance many of the current councillors have towards citizens and an administration that runs our city with very few checks and balances.
With the right plan, leadership and a fiscally responsible council, we can repair our city without continual tax increases.
What are the two biggest issues for the next term?
The two biggest issues facing the next term aside from the homeless and addiction crisis, would have to be the development of the plan of attack towards the recent “GAP” report and the decision regarding a costly OHL facility. While those are only two, there are many serious issues that will have a significant impact on our citizens.
What do you hope to achieve?
My goal is to find a way to freeze tax increases and repair the Chatham-Kent we have. Many things will have to change to achieve that goal, and many people will be upset, but we can’t keep going the way we are.
What skills and experience do you bring?
I have served as board member of multiple organizations, co-ordinated many large agricultural projects, gained extensive experience in numerous sectors including financial, industrial, sales, construction, and hospitality. I have also lived in Chatham since the day I was born, I have experienced every win and loss our community has faced for over the past 45 years.
