Candidates continue to step forward to run in this fall’s municipal election.
Since we last reported to our readers, 10 candidates filed their papers. They bring the total running for office in Chatham-Kent in the fall to 90. Of those, 76 are running for council or the mayor’s seat, while 14 seek a trustee position on a local school board.
Ward 7 saw the most activity. Incumbent Marjorie Crew announced her intentions to run again, while Michael Gibbons, Karen Robinet and Dale VanDusen stepped forward as well.
Ward 8 saw incumbent Conor Allin file his papers. So too did Cynthia Cote.
Marc Westerman announced he is running in Ward 6.
In Ward 5, Bill Arends and Dave Brundritt put their names into the hat.
At the school boards level, David Pelgrims, Chris White and Jocelyn Young Cromier are now running for LKDSB trustee for wards 1-3.
Barb Pelgrims seeks a seat for SCCDSB for Ward 3.

South East Kent Ward 2: Chad Carnie; incumbent Anthony Ceccacci, Matthew Giffin, Fred Hooper, Matt Lamarche, Denise Maynard, Albert Pilbeam, Brad Snobelen, Spencer Stinson and Hassan Tariq. (Two seats.)

North West Kent Ward 4: John Cummings, Kirk Hooker and incumbent Rhonda Jubenville. (One seat.)
