Lions support CKHA

The Chatham Lions club members (in blue), along with its Eyes Right team (in yellow) share their support with CKHA and CKHA Foundation personnel. From left, Seppo Kuokkanen; Aldo Gonzalez; Jacqui Flood; Jim Faubert; Dr. Gail Tanner, Eyes Right board chair; Murray McDonald, vice chair; Elda Faubert, club president; Larry Badder; Sherri Wismer; Dr. Chris Anjema, chief of surgery; Roy Graham; Emily Sellner, CKHA Foundation development officer; Andrew DeBoer, CKHAF communications manager; and Mark Mahovlich.

The Lions Clubs of District A1 have a sight conservation foundation called “Eyes Right” whose purpose is to raise funds to provide vision-care equipment to the various hospitals in Southwestern Ontario.

And are they ever helping the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA).

The Chatham Lions Club made the most recent proposal: to provide an operating microscope to the Ophthalmology Department at CKHA.

The first $50,000 donation was made last September.

In June, members of the Chatham Lions Club and Eyes Right presented a second $50,000 cheque to the hospital.

The Chatham Lions Club continues to raise funds for this cause.

All donations gratefully accepted. Contact [email protected].
