The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) patted its collective self on the back at its recent annual general meeting.
Raising more than $1.1M in a year can lead to such things.
From April 1 of last year until the end of March this year, the CKHAF raised $1,114,578 for the CKHA.
“Made possible through the generosity of donors, businesses, service clubs, community organizations, volunteers, and event participants from across Chatham-Kent, this remarkable investment will support vital equipment, technology, programs, and patient care initiatives across both the Chatham and Wallaceburg hospital sites,” CKHAF officials said in a media release.
“This past year was one of tremendous progress for our Foundation and our hospital, and every achievement was made possible by the incredible generosity of our community,” said Christine Mitchell, president & CEO of CKHAF. “The more than $1.1 million committed to local health care reflects the strength of our community and its shared commitment to exceptional care close to home. It represents lives touched, patients cared for, and people coming together to make a lasting difference for our hospital.”
Funding committed during the 2025-2026 fiscal year supported a wide range of priorities across CKHA, including new diagnostic imaging technology, emergency and critical care, women & children’s care, the patient assistance fund, and other hospital priorities.
The Foundation also welcomed Jason Board-Smith and Jay Charlton as the newest members of its volunteer board of directors. Together, they bring extensive professional experience, strong leadership skills, and a shared commitment to strengthening local health care through community philanthropy, according to CKHAF officials.
