LETTER: Changes needed at cemetery

Editor: I am writing this letter to know if anyone else is experiencing the problem I have run into at Arnold Cemetery.

For the second year in a row, my effort to honour my mother and sister have been ripped out.

It did not used to be this way. I do not know who the hell is running this place, but there needs to be accountability. It is like a barren wasteland now.

My father remarried and is buried in Maple Leaf Cemetery. It is a beautiful cemetery with bright floral displays and solar-powered units, which I have put on my father’s grave.

I am not sure what can be done legally (do we not own the plots?). Perhaps a class-action lawsuit to force ownership to change to the municipality is in order.

A lot of my relatives are buried in Arnold Cemetery and it is like we are not allowed to honour them anymore. This needs to change.

I hope the municipality will give serious consideration so that Arnold will be beautiful again like Maple Leaf Cemetery.
