Chatham-Kent Public Library invites the community to spend the morning with local author Yejide Kilanko May 13 at the Chatham branch.
Kilanko is a Nigerian-Canadian fiction writer living in Chatham-Kent. She will read from her latest book, “What the Eyes See.”
Written as a picture book for children, the story explores themes of perception, empathy, and understanding that will resonate with readers of all ages, library officials said in a media release.
A conversation with the author will follow the reading, with opportunities for questions from the audience.
This program is free to attend and offered with funding support from the Canada Council for the Arts through The Writers’ Union of Canada. No registration is required.
Explore Yejide’s other books, including her adult fiction titles, “Daughters Who Walk This Path” and “A Good Name,” in the library’s catalogue at search.ckpl.ca.
The event begins at 10 a.m.
