A Chatham man is in hot water following a Wednesday arrest, police say, where he allegedly assaulted a police officer.
Police were called to a St. Clair Street address in Chatham shortly before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The attending officers determined a woman had been assaulted, and they went to place the accused under arrest.
However, the man did not go quietly. Police say he resisted, and assaulted an officer.
As a result, a 41-year-old Chatham man is charged with resisting arrest and assaulting a peace officer, as well as assault against the 34-year-old female victim.
