Why are you running?
I decided to run for council to have a voice of common sense at the table and someone that will represent this ward by being hands on.
I will seek input by listening to the wants and needs of the constituents and fighting for them with integrity, transparency and honesty. I believe you can’t speak for the people, if you don’t speak to the people.
What are the two biggest issues for the next term of council?
I think there are many, but my top two would be cutting costs by reviewing municipal spending and fight for an action plan for the homeless situation in Chatham-Kent. I don’t believe the cabins are working and I feel that council should have more control of its operations.
What do you hope to achieve if elected?
My main focus will be to listen to the constituents in my ward and act in their best interests. I want to prove to the people who vote for me, that they made the right decision in trusting me to work for them. I will ask the tough questions and do the research needed to find answers.
What skills and experience do you bring?
I have over 25 years of management experience in the hospitality and financial industries. These positions included preparing and managing financial budgets as well as participating in union negotiations. I have operated my own business in Chatham-Kent for approximately 10 years. I encounter the homeless on a weekly basis, and I am familiar with many issues they have brought to my attention. I have excellent customer service skills and have followed council meetings for over a year.
Are you a fan of Donald Trump? No.
