Why are you running?
Our community is at a critical crossroads. Residents and local businesses are facing rising costs, increasing property taxes, and growing pressure on household budgets. At the same time, we continue to see infrastructure backlogs and project delays that impact daily life in Wallaceburg and across Chatham-Kent.
We can do better. I want to bring a disciplined, results-driven approach to city hall – one that protects taxpayers, delivers projects on time and on budget, and ensures our community receives its fair share of investment.
What are the two biggest issues for the next term of council?
- Continued fiscal pressures and property taxes. Taxpayers are maxed out and the costs continue to rise at rates greater than inflation. It will take strong leadership and a unified and integrated council to balance urgent infrastructure needs such as rural roads, bridges, water systems, etc.
- Housing affordability, growth and homelessness services. Lack of growth and new builds especially in Wallaceburg is very obvious. Investment follows certainty. We need to restore confidence in investors to bring growth to the community. Affordable housing is highlighted every day and it will take a united team to move forward and bring new solutions to the council table. Homelessness is a multifaceted issue which encompasses mental health and addiction treatment and recovery.
What do you hope to achieve if elected?
I would like to achieve a fully integrated and cohesive council. Move the community forward together, all for one and one for all motivation. Eliminate the us versus them undertones.
I will host quarterly update meetings in Wallaceburg, where I will answer questions and listen to your comments.
What skills and experience do you bring?
I bring 30 years of accounting and financial experience from the chemical and energy sectors. I know how to make tough decisions and balance urgent infrastructure investments.
I know and understand hard work and dedication, I am not in this to impress anyone, I do not have a hidden agenda, my only goal is to see Wallaceburg and area represented fairly and equitably.
