Take a walk around Kingston Park and read a story!
That’s what the Chatham-Kent Public Library has set up in the Chatham park.
Walk along the park trail and look for 18 trail markers, each one containing pages from a children’s book. Read an entire book as you walk the circular trail.
The first marker in the story is near the entrance to the park’s pathways, opposite Primrose Lane.
“This project supports early literacy, family engagement, and physical activity by encouraging families to enjoy shared learning outdoors in local parks and along community trails,” library officials said in a media release. “This permanent storybook trail will keep the community returning, as stories change throughout the year.”
Support from the May Court Club of Chatham has made this trail possible.
The official opening for the new storybook trail takes place Oct. 1 at 10 a.m.
