Why are you running?
I am running because I care and this is personal. I have a daughter going into her last year of high school, a son in his second year of university and aging parents. I want secure, safe and affordable living for seniors, a place where my kids can stay and find work, and streets, downtowns and parks where people feel safe. That means attracting new business, helping local small businesses expand, and keeping older residents in the homes they built.
What are the two biggest issues for the next term of council?
Housing affordability and quality of life for seniors and growing our economy so youth (kids and grandkids) and anyone looking for a job can find one. We also need a council that is open and transparent with the people and earns trust back. No backroom deals.
What do you hope to achieve if elected?
If elected, I will work for secure, affordable living for seniors and for new investment in how we support our local small businesses so there are real jobs here. I want streets, downtowns, and parks where people feel safe, one-by-one outreach so families can help bring their kids home, reduce encampments and a council that tells the truth, stays open with residents and puts Chatham-Kent first.
What skills and experience do you bring?
Thirteen years as a licensed real estate agent. Educated in addiction treatment and care and in CRAFT Community Reinforcement and Family Training. I can stand by good ideas even when they come from people I often disagree with, and I can stand up to any leader in any political position when they threaten the best interests of this community or this country, even if I have been a fan or have supported them in the past. Loyalty here is to my family, our community, and country not to a foreign leader and not to tariffs that hurt our farmers and workers.
Are you a fan of Donald Trump? No.
