Three Blenheim men face charges in the wake of what police are saying was “a violent confrontation” recently.
On Saturday evening, shortly before 8:30 p.m., police learned of a fight that turned ugly, involving someone being struck by a vehicle, and a weapon discharged.
The fracas took place near William Street North and Sunset Drive, police say.
As officers investigated, police say it became clear this was the latest incident in an ongoing dispute.
Officers allege one man drove into another man, and then someone fired a BB gun towards the victim, a 23-year-old Blenheim man.
Police say a second victim, a 21-year-old Blenheim woman, ran toward the scene to assist and was also struck.
Both victims suffered injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Police seized a BB gun and associated magazines and ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Blenheim man is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
Two others were charged.
One is a Blenheim man, 18, who faces charges of assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
A 27-year-old Blenheim man is charged with uttering threats, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
