A Chatham man is dead following a late-night crash on Queen’s Line.
Police say the two-vehicle accident took place shortly after midnight early Sunday morning between Bloomfield Road and Dillon Road.
One vehicle was driven by a 46-year-old Tilbury man; the other by a 57-year-old Chatham man. No one else was in the vehicles, police say.
Both drivers were hurt in the crash and taken to hospital in Chatham. However, the Chatham man’s injuries were to the point he had to be airlifted to hospital in London, where he later succumbed to those injuries.
Police closed Queen’s Line to investigate. It was re-opened Sunday morning.
The investigation continues into what happened. Police ask anyone who witnessed the collision or has information regarding the circumstances leading up to it to contact Const. Shelton Richardson of the Traffic Management Unit at 519-355-1092 or by email at [email protected].
