Planning for the future

Chatham-Kent’s water and wastewater services are coming under the microscope as part of a new plan update study.

To be undertaken by the C-K Public Utilities Commission for the municipality, the study will review previous capital plans and identify additional capital upgrades needed to sustainably provide water services. It will assess infrastructure needs required to meet expansion demands until 2051.

According to a municipal media release, three public meetings will be held in order to present service solutions and gather input.

Once complete, the study will be made available to the public for final review and comment.

Interested parties are encouraged to visit the project webpage at letstalkchatham-kent.ca to stay up to date.

The PUC currently services 39,000 water and 31,000 wastewater customers.
