Take part in March Matchness

Robin and Bob Hockney care about the health of others.

The couple, longtime health-care champions, are supporting a one-month fundraising campaign for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation March Matchness. The pair has committed up to $50,000 to match local donations dollar for dollar.

According to a media release from the foundation, funds raised during March will go towards two initiatives, including the ongoing Our Hospital, Our Future Wallaceburg Redevelopment Campaign as well as the enhancement of mammography services at CKHA.

CKHAF president and CEO Christine Mitchell said the organization is deeply grateful to the Hockneys.

“Their generosity is creating an opportunity for donors to see their gifts have immediate, double impact. Whether you are supporting the future of the Wallaceburg hospital or helping strengthen breast health services here in Chatham-Kent, every donation made this month truly goes further for patient care,” she said in a media release.

Bob Hockney, past chair of the foundation board, said the desire to support the fundraiser is to encourage broad community participation.

“Robin and I deeply believe in the importance of our local hospital and we wanted to create an opportunity where every donation, no matter the size, could have an even great impact,” Bob explained.

“The care provided at our hospital touches so many lives, and we hope this campaign will rally our community in support of these important initiatives throughout the month of March.”

March Matchness runs until March 31 and all donations are eligible to be matched. For more information access CKHAF.ca/match online.
