Workforce Week drops off its collective resume starting tomorrow.
From Feb. 24 to March 4, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s CK Jobs team is hosting its annual Workforce Week to empower both employers and job seekers within Chatham-Kent.
Throughout the week, there will be in-person and virtual events designed to provide resources for residents looking to find jobs, summer student jobs, apprenticeships, or start a new career.
The event concludes on March 4 with the Workforce Week Job Fair at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham. Running from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., it is the largest job fair in Chatham-Kent. Last year saw more than 80 booths on site, and 1,400 people attended.
Job seekers will have the opportunity to discover job, education and training, and volunteer opportunities.
Along with the 80-plus employers on site, there will be the Skills Ontario Trades & Tech Truck, featuring hands-on activities and simulators for youth aged 12 and older to explore skilled trades and emerging technologies; participation from educational institutions, including the University of Windsor and Lambton College, promoting post-secondary education and training pathways; and a live demonstration stage, highlighting various trades, technologies, and innovative skills.
“The Workforce Week Job Fair is the perfect place to connect with employers and take the next step in your career,” said Matt Keech, program manager for Employment and Social Service, in a media release. “We’re thrilled to be able to host Chatham-Kent’s largest annual job fair and provide this opportunity within Municipality of Chatham-Kent.”
