
Four performances of the musical comedy, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change: The Musical” will be presented by a Chatham-Kent cast in the sanctuary of St. Andrew’s United Church this month,
The shows take place Feb. 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 7 p.m.
“I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change: The Musical” is presented in the form of a series of witty vignettes and catchy songs connected by the theme of love and relationships. It takes a candid look at the joys, frustrations and unexpected moments that come with dating, marriage and everything in between. It explores the complexities of love, from awkward first dates to the trials of long-term commitment, St. Andrew’s personnel said.
Whether you are single, married or at another stage of a relationship, the show offers something for everyone – celebrating the triumphs and pitfalls of romantic relationships with humour, charm, and a bit of nostalgia.
“This cleverly written production includes everything you have secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws but were afraid to admit,” the media release stated.
First produced in 1995, it is the second-longest running off-Broadway musical. It has been translated into 17 languages and has played in almost every major city around the world.
Directed by experienced theatre director Christine Baribeau with musical direction by Devon Hansen, the production features a stellar cast of local performers.
The content is not suitable for those under 18 years of age.
