
Roof renegade arrested
Chatham-Kent police arrested a man they spotted on the roof of an abandoned building in Wallaceburg Saturday.
Police received a report of a break in at a building on Wallace Street shortly before 8 a.m. Witnesses reported seeing a man inside the abandoned building. Officers arrived and spotted him on the roof.
They tried to speak with the man, police say, but he jumped down and took off. The ensuing foot pursuit ended with an arrest.
A 36-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with break and enter with intent and mischief.
Flasher arrested
A man faces charges after police say he exposed himself in the entryway of a Chatham business early Sunday morning.
Police were originally called for a report of an unwanted person at a King Street business in Chatham about 12:45 a.m.
Officers also learned the man flashed people in the front doorway of the business, police say.
It was also confirmed the man was bound by conditions to not be at that business.
As a result, a 39-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with two counts of failing to comply.
Break-in charges
Someone got into a garage in Morpeth, and a man is facing charges as a result.
Police were called shortly before 3 p.m. with a report someone moved a snowmobile out of the garage and was in the process of trying to steal it.
Officers arrived on scene and found their suspect still inside the garage.
A 34-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with break and enter, and possession of break-in instruments.

That night, someone got into a residence on Webb Street in Wallaceburg, and stole a dog.
Officers investigated and learned a man entered the home while the owner was away, and made off with the animal.
Police located a man nearby with the dog.
A 41-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with break and enter, and possession of stolen (pooch) property.
Driver charged with impaired after car hits fence
A Chatham man faces impaired driving charges after police say he drove into a fence in a parking lot on St. Clair Street Saturday evening.
The incident took place shortly after 9 p.m. When officers investigated, police say the driver was behaving erratically and “making incoherent statements.”
The man failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.

Shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday morning, another Chatham man was scooped up for impaired driving.
Police say an officer pulled over a vehicle on Lacroix Street in Chatham shortly before 3 a.m. for a traffic stop. They believed the driver showed signs of being impaired.
He was taken to police headquarters for testing, which he failed, police say.
An 18-year-old Chatham man is charged with impaired driving.
