
Threats
A local man faces charges after someone reportedly threatened a woman outside her Richmond Street residence in Chatham Wednesday night.
Police say a man confronted the victim about 9:30 p.m. and threatened to harm her and others.
Police arrested a 45-year-old Chatham-Kent man. He’s charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and breach of recognizance, as he was in violation of his bail conditions, police say.
All boozed up and angry
An angry outburst at a house party earned a Chatham man a night in the drunk tank.
Police say officers were called to a disturbance on Glenwood Drive in Chatham about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday evening. It was reported an intoxicated man was trying to assault people at a private gathering.
The investigating officers found the suspect, saw he had overindulged, and held him until he sobered up, releasing him with charges of being intoxicated in a public place
Compound interest
Two people were on the wrong side of a fence, and face trespassing charges as a result.
On Wednesday afternoon, police were called over a report of two people being inside a fenced compound on Queen Street North in Tilbury.
Officers arrived and found the two hiding inside the fenced area of the business. No items appeared to have been stolen, police say.
A man and woman, both 30, from Chatham, are charged with trespassing.
Hoe, hoe, no
Local police ask residents to keep an eye out for a stolen backhoe.
Overnight Tuesday to Wednesday, someone stole a yellow Massy-Ferguson 300 backhoe from a property on Evergreen Line Camden Township.
