Impaired-a-palooza

Over the weekend, police laid half a dozen impaired-related charges in an equal number of separate incidents.

It began Saturday evening, about 11 p.m. on Grand Avenue in Chatham. Police say officers pulled over a vehicle after receiving a report the driver might be impaired.

A 33-year-old Chatham man is facing impaired charges.

Less than 30 minutes later, police stopped a vehicle in Wallaceburg.

A 61-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with impaired driving.

Just six minutes after that incident, police in Chatham acted on a tip of another possible impaired driver.

They stopped a vehicle on Simcoe Lane just after 11:30 p.m.

A 42-year-old Chatham man is charged with impaired.

Fast forward three hours, to 2:38 a.m. Officers spotted a vehicle being driven erratically and pulled it over.

A 23-year-old driver faces an impaired charge.

On Sunday evening in Chatham, someone saw a driver with open alcohol at the wheel.

A 36-year-old man was teste and charged with impaired driving.

And on Monday morning, about 12:20 a.m., police pulled over yet another driver on the belief they were impaired.

Police say the driver refused a roadside test, so they were arrested with failing to comply with demand.
