A Chatham woman faces charges after police say she smacked another woman in the face early Friday morning.
The incident took place shortly before 1 a.m. on Fifth Line southwest of Chatham.
Officers responded to the call and found the victim, 49, had suffered injuries to her face.
The said she was hit by the suspect, police say, during a dispute.
The suspect had fled the scene. But officers tracked her down and made the arrest.
A 34-year-old Chatham woman faces assault charges.
