A Chatham man faces more charges after police say he went where he wasn’t supposed to be on Monday.

Police were called about 7 p.m. for a report of a breach of probation.

The complainant, a 26-year-old Chatham woman, reported that a man from Chatham-Kent had approached her vehicle and began pacing while shouting threats at her, police say, which is in violation of an existing probation order.

The individual left the scene before officers arrived.

Upon investigation, supported by video evidence, officers were able to identify the suspect. It was also discovered that the man was bound by conditions not to be within 10 metres of the woman.

Officers located the accused, and he was arrested without incident.

A 29-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with breaching probation, uttering threats and failing to comply.

Man smacked; woman charged

A Ridgetown woman faces charges after police say someone broke into a man’s residence and hit him Monday night.

The call came in shortly before 9 p.m. Police say a woman got into the 49-year-old man’s home through a window.

Once inside, she confronted the male and struck him in the face. The man suffered minor injuries, but did not require medical attention, police say.

The suspect was located and arrested by the Chatham-Kent Police Service officers.

A 45-year-old Ridgetown woman is charged with break and enter to commit assault.
