If you see a lot of cops along parts of the Thames River in Chatham today, don’t be alarmed.

Chatham-Kent police are conducting training along the river, specifically between Victoria Avenue and Curran Crescent.

According to police officials, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) will be conducting ground search training until about 2 p.m.

“This training exercise is crucial for maintaining the readiness and effectiveness of our emergency responders,” officials said in a media release.

Police ask the community to avoid this area during the specified time.
