B&E, mischief arrest

An attempted break-in early Friday morning on Richmond Street was a smashing failure.

Police were notified of the break-in attempt about 4:20 a.m., courtesy of a motion alarm that had been triggered.

Officers quickly showed up on scene and confirmed that the building had been entered, as one of the doors was pried open.

They went inside and found a person trying to smash the audible security alarm, police say.

A 20-year-old man is charged with break and enter with intent, and mischief.

Trailer taken

Thieves made off with a trailer from a property on Rivard Line recently.

The flatbed trailer is about eight-feet long, and is black.
